Today I deactivated my Twitter account after being there for 5288 days (14.5 years). Most memorable moment for me was #BarackObama being my first follower from the start (and in turn was the first person I followed back in 2009). In the last year majority of people I followed became less and less active, quality and variety of the feed deteriorated and my time spend on it reduced to less than couple of minutes per day.

Well, the transformation finally happened on my #iPad this morning. #Twitter truly is no more, but yet still is called Twitter in the App Store.

#Twitter locked my account earlier, apparently I’d added to many followers to quickly.
Anyway, I did what they said to unlock my account and lo and behold, the 400+ accounts I was following had reset to zero.

I am using the duck duck go search engine and browser. Signing up for some beta apps inside like stripping trackers from my emails before forwarding.

Have not figured out if I give out the duck.com address though I suspect this is true.

So I ventured onto the bird site to see a tweet that had been linked here (yes, it was really worth the trip).

But as I was admiring some beautiful photographs, I noticed #RIPTwitter is trending in the U.S. with #RateLimitExceeded and #GoodbyeTwitter.

I'm not sure why I even have a Twitter anymore. I get actual responses and useful info/ interaction on here vs none at all on the bird site.
I suppose it's really a website for the already influential and famous.
Plus the ads are unreal once you've gotten used to Mastodon.

FYI - The default article count per feed is 20, but I decreased mine to 10. I may modify it further in the future depending on how the total feed count impacts my system.
