A BBC investigation has revealed that water companies have released vast amounts of sewage into our rivers and seas during dry weather.
This looks likely to be illegal under UK environmental law. If sewage is released when the weather is dry, it can become concentrated, boosting toxin-producing algae and putting swimmers at risk.

Given that IPSO complaints require full personal details of each complainant, and that these details are then passed on to the publication in question…you know, those same newspapers that hacked into private phone messages etc., one has to ask why is this acceptable? I wonder if we should all be making parallel complaints to the ICO about this potential data breach? It just seems wrong!

@oliverromain @jim @openrightsgroup I made a complaint and thought exactly the same. Why should a newspaper have access to my personal details when I complain to the so called independent watchdog about them. This cannot be acceptable under GDPR?
