Supporting an ILM panel about #GoodNightOppy VFX on Thursday afternoon at Siggraph https://s2023.siggraph.org/presentation/?id=pros_139&sess=sess303
I'm not done talking #GoodNightOppy quite yet :) I'll be in DC for a day to talk on a panel on Sunday 3/26 : https://dceff.eventive.org/schedule/good-night-oppy-63f112f471a7bf006fc409fd - might have to swing by Air and Space to say Hi to Dusty while I'm there.
Finish crying my eyes out watching #GoodNightOppy, and I step outside to walk my dog one last time before bed. The sky’s perfectly clear, and sure enough, there’s #Mars, high and bright in the sky.
I, being a reasonable person, immediately start crying again.
The Oscars short list for Best Doc will drop today - hoping to see #GoodNightOppy in that list. Still holding out that Spirit might get a nomination for best actress in a supporting role but that seems less likely ;)
Another great chat about #GoodNightOppy with Drew from The Wrap - and got to spend some time with Bekah in the process....win win :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOfkCJce-i8
This should be good - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7F6dEsDQhQ #GoodNightOppy
Just watched #GoodNightOppy, who else has seen it and what did you think? I loved the very human story of #Oppy and her twin. Great to hear from people like @doug_ellison et al who worked on the mission and the personal connection to the ‘hardware’. Pretty emotional stuff all in all! #marsrover #mars #astro #spaceexploration

Just watched #GoodNightOppy @NASAJPL@twitter.com @NASA@twitter.com and it was amazing. If you still have dry eyes after watching it, you are a monster with a heart of stone.
Another great interview with Ryan about #GoodNightOppy - this time for KCRW https://www.kcrw.com/news/shows/press-play-with-madeleine-brand/lgbt-colorado-shooting-opportunity-rover-food/good-night-oppy - lots of selfie talk...one thing I wish I'd managed to do back after Sol 5000 was convince Mars EPO to use my version of the selfie...I think it's better ;)
Didn’t even realise when I made this that today is the release date for #GoodNightOppy 🥰
Good morning. #GoodNightOppy has been released on streaming for everyone to experience.
Having seen it in theaters and having lived the mission, I encourage you to watch it. It's the mission as seen though the lens of the emotions between a team and their spacecraft.
And yes, be ready to shed a tear for Oppy and her twin Spirit. (Seriously, it's not just those of us that worked the mission. https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/science/good-night-oppy-about-nasas-rover-mission-may-make-you-cry-2022-11-22/)
It’s out. I truly hope as many people as possible can end up seeing the human story of our departed robotic explorers. I was proud to be a part of that mission, if only for a little while. I’m proud to be a part of the way we finish telling their story. #GoodNightOppy
Had a nice chat with Isaac earlier in the week - it gets to the core of what I think makes #GoodNightOppy important.... that it tells the emotional story about those rovers that nothing else captured. https://gizmodo.com/good-night-oppy-documentary-mars-rovers-nasa-1849800988
But I'll be glad to be home on Wednesday...because...that's #GoodNightOppy night :)
Went to see #GoodNightOppy this afternoon.
Having spent 12 years operating Opportunity and her twin Spirit, it was amazing to see the emotional story told.
Yes, it is a story about emotion. Emotion the team had for the rover. The bond of the team, a team that became a chosen family for many of us.
MER was a unique mission, I'm not sure there will be anything quite like it again. It was an honor to have been part of it, if only for part of the mission.
It’s not taken long - I’m already seeing a critical mass of my space tweep family over here on Mastodon. I’m going to stick it out on the bird site until I’m done with promo for #GoodNightOppy by the end of the year but I’m not really worried about leaving Twitter thereafter anymore.
