I’m reluctant to use the #SolarPunk hashtag too much, as, aside from surely promoting grift, I am still not sure what the hell it is…. But, #GreenWizardy, I do know. Anyways…. #Hops are a great solution to too much Sun in spots. They are perennial, grow like crazy, provide not only shade but #Beer and #HerbalMedicine ingredients, die back in Winter, provide habitat, and want nothing once established. Cheap, too.

#GreenWizardy / #SolarPunk suggestion, from lived experience, start building your analog (aka physical) library yesterday. This thought brought to you by me looking at our collection (maybe a hundred) books from as far back as the 1920s on #Gardening, #HerbalMedicine, #EnergyConservation, #Homesteading, etc. You can’t have too many. Your local library and thrift stores are golden for this.

Ok, I’ll admit that I saved every single Arch Druid Report blog post to a thumb drive as soon as they were published; and I have more than one of JMG’s books here with me. The insights and advice are still spot-on.

@benjedwards we need more of that kind of thinking. Mapping skills, resources, and food (I know technically a resource) in our immediate areas is a great idea, if we can get our neighbors onboard. I think a lot of us need to relearn how to get along in smaller and more resource-constrained communities. One of my favorite blog authors suggested a while back to “Collapse Now, and Avoid the Rush.” Great advice.
