Yes, the one with the gorgeous map (noooo…), AND a printed version of #KultDivinityLost AND a printed copy of #CyBorg (bought the pdf, played it, great game) AND the #ChainedCoffin boxed campaign set for #DCC and #Hyperborea3e AND Mongoose #Traveller (pdf from the humble bundle is a strikingly good read) AND the German version of the #dnd (BECMI) expert box … Bodo Heye I. the Immoderate 👑

Die 2 ersten #Dragonlance Hardcover mochte ich sehr, aber auch die #Greyhawk Romane von #GaryGygax und #RoseEstes weil sie sich "nach D&D angefühlt" haben. Auf #Golarion mochte ich Varian Jeggare und Radovan von #DaveGross, noch mehr Winter Witch von #ElaineCunningham, die ja auch zu den #Drow in #ForgottenRealms schrieb. #Aventurien-Favorit? @ChaskaTheMagicDog currently, i run #shadowdarkrpg (#Planscape setting) and #worldswithoutnumbers (#TombRobbersOfTheCristalFrontier module), oh and I gm‘d a session of #BrindlewoodBay last weekend. I mostly gm, but I’m pretty hyped that I will be a player in a #Greyhawk campaign starting in summer/autumn. An old friend of mine will be the dm and we will use the #shadowdarkrpg rules

A very good friend of mine plans to launch a #Greyhawk ❤️campaign in late summer/autumn. I will be a player in his campaign, which makes me excited bc I dm most of the time. We will use the elegant #shadowdarkrpg rules set. Tonight, we‘ll create characters. My friend already developed a little life path mechanic, which he plans to add to the SD chassis. I made fun of him, pointing out that he is about creating some weird chimera of #BurningWheel and #Shadowdark. Shadowwheel? Looking forward

I find it fascinating that Gary Gygax and the team of AD&D writers predicted #Brexit and the decline of the Great Kingdom in the face of plague, corruption and political infighting over 30 years ago when they wrote the campaign manuals for #Greyhawk.

To be fair, the signs were already there, but the magical barrier isolating the capital of this evil empire from the rest of the world was a stroke of genius.

I keep wondering how people just obediently shuffle into acceptance of an impoverished and cruel existence in a society that feels inspired by the rulers of Hell, Tartarus and the Abyss.

Something that always gives me a thrill is exploring #FantasyMaps. From Middle Earth to Pern & The Land, but especially #DnD maps accompanied by a guide to the places, history and culture. I'd spend hours exploring and learning.
It's possibly a result of growing up with #Greyhawk and later Faerûn, with their detailed gazetteers. I had the original #Oerth map hanging on my wall between gaming sessions so I could dream of the lands I would visit.
Any recommendations of a world (preferably open source #ttrpg) worth exploring?
