Jesus worked as a carpenter during His time here before He was called into ministry. He taught the Apostles many things in the form of parables, along with teachings on seeds.

The Lord wasn't a farmer, so why is this so important to Him and what is He really wanting to show us about a tiny seed?

Beyond the outer shell, the innermost part of a seed holds the important things, like the DNA strands or genetics of what will later sprout.

Luke 8:11 states the seed is the word of God, meaning God's DNA is in His Word. Jesus wants us to intake His word past the shell into a deeper level (Jn 16:25), so His seed can be planted into our beings (Gen 2:7). 🌱

God has set up a structure in His church for there to be Godly counselors over the body of Christ. These people carry within them an abundance of life experiences that God allowed in order for wisdom to be birthed into their character.

Here at Voice of Healing, every single person is pushed to grow in all elements of their lives through understanding the Word at a deeper level. This journey is not meant to be had alone and we have amazing Godly counselors to help guide the church and also bring maturity in understanding into the body through the counsel they give that is rooted in scripture.

Rain is Teaching

Deuteronomy 32:2 says:
"Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As the light rain upon the tender grass, And as the spring showers upon the herb.”

Under the right conditions, when a seed is introduced to water, it soaks up that water, swells, and breaks its outer shell. This is a beautiful picture reminding us that without water, a tree or crop cannot grow or produce anything.

God rains on the just and unjust, meaning He gives everyone the opportunity to learn His Word and produce fruit worthy of repentance (refMat 3:8), however, it is up to each person if they are willing to learn or not.

A Receptive Heart

In the parable of the sower and the seed we have four grounds (soil). The seed sown by the wayside, the seed among the rocky ground, the seed sown among thorns, and the seed that was sown on good ground. Remember, this parable is pointing to something of a heavenly nature; the ground (soil) represents the heart and mind of the person receiving the seed. The seed is the word/teaching of God. The Bible says that God is the Word (Jon 1:1). If God is the Word, and the Word is the seed, then every time someone receives the seed into their heart and mind, they’re taking on a part of God’s character or His attributes.
