I've finally found the time to sit down and put together an Axe-FX 3 preset for my #Synergy amp rig.

Signal chain is:

- guitar
- Axe-FX 3
- pedal board
- Synergy
- Axe-FX 3 for power amp, cab, delay and reverb

No need for a real power amp, no need for an attenuator.

Early results sound very good indeed - but I've only tested this preset with a single Synergy module.

Guess what I'm spending the weekend doing 😍

At the weekend, I did a live #CoffeeAndKlon, looking at the #PRS #Horsemeat. Towards the end, I said that I was still preferring my beloved #SHOD.

It’s the #Horsemeat that has stayed on the board all week, not the #SHOD 🙂

Both sound great. My #SHOD is going nowhere. Some days I prefer the #SHOD. This week, I’ve been preferring the Horsemeat.

Although a new contender has entered the game …

tl;dr - if you need a fairly generic overdrive with nice mids that won't steal the limelight from other instruments, it's worth getting one.

I would normally ask this of #GuitarTwitter but let's try here first.

A friend is asking for recommendations for good beginner's electric guitar, under £300. My standard answer to that for decades has been the Yamaha Pacifica, which (I am delighted to note) is still going strong, but what else is out there in that price bracket that can stand up to the Pacifica?

This is my live guitar, an early PRS SE EG that I bought for £150

Originally it was Sunburst but I had it resprayed black by my local paint-meister

I use a Roland GR-55 guitar synth, mainly for the amps, effects and alt-tunings, hence the GK-3

It plays like a dream and is incredible value for money, if you can find one
