@konrad
Wow.
Why are we not surprised #TorProject would create "incentives" (bribes?) such that #Tails reject a bit of (#I2P) competition, haha.
Its not enough that they destroyed human-. readable (#HSv2) addresses.
How much did #Tor make from the sale of those #etheriumScam tokens, which are centralised on #Cloudflare and #Amazon servers, again?
Tails is okay but could be much, much better.
Their loss.
Like #journalism, Tor is becoming an #academicStudy in controlled destruction.

And Cloudflare's emergence has nothing to do with the controlled demolition of comedy and the rise of CentralBankDigitalSlavery.
Our pet peeve is how under the guise of safety they had to make the URLs go from 16 characters to 50 characters.
Gotta futureProof #Tor for the year 34288.

Blockchain is only as decentralised as people collectively choose to make it. We like bitcoin but blockchain is not an answer to everything.
@humanetech Are you not passionate about ActivityHub?
Decentralisation needs to start at the hardware, OS and network levels. That's why we encourage development of printable, #modular hardware, #GNULinux and #I2P.
Tor has this month lost humanReadable #HSv2 addresses, so we are less interested in Tor movingForward.
There is so much great work out there do to.
But then you realise #Cloudflare can just destroy any attempt to do great work — it can even destroy a young, healthy athlete.
Its sad to learn that #TorProject are hostile to people who speak up against Cloudflare. When we say #grants are slightly #toxic this is the type of thing we mean.
Its pretty obvious that Cloudflare have #infiltrated #GuardianProject, and compromised them in some way.
Long live #I2P.

#TorProject: Over past months we've been breaking Tor Hidden Services (#HSv2), but we are now only just telling users in the browser that those accessible #onionAddresses are being dropped.
"Oh and here is #DuckDuckGo's website, still (by some miracle, obviously) using the #humanReadable address we know you prefer.
We would honestly compile a version of Tor that had 17 letters of entropy, if 16 doesn't take enough billions of years to crack.

You know we are reaching the end when even #urlShortening services won't work without an "app" and #TorProject breaks accessible Tor addresses.

@corl3ss
There are a wide variety of use cases that #TorProject have now completely broken when they broke #HSv2, three of which are serious. We've outlined them before.
You are right that not all services are broken of course.
Also, Tor still works as a #clearnet #VPN.
When large sets of participants are ripped from a system like Tor without a way to persist, new and predictable problems emerge.
Other systems exist however, including #I2P, and others are in development. So not all is lost.
#torproject #HSv2 #clearnet #vpn #i2p
Isn't is fascinating that after #Tor broke #HSv2 hidden services, even the supposedly brilliant #HSv3 addresses seem more unreliable.
Gee hmm, but the plan was not to break Tor for the benefit of their corporate sponsors, no.
They just wanted to make #hiddenServices unusable, is all.
#tor #HSv2 #HSv3 #hiddenServices
@torproject
And with it you destroy any possibility that #Tor cab be used on the ground for progressive movements.
Well, done. A clap from your #corporateSponsors, no doubt.

@realcaseyrollins
#Tor's v2 addresses (ie. the 16-character addresses) for #HiddenServices are being replaced by v3 addresses that are approx 50 characters.
We read a ticket on #Gitlab detailing plans to completely remove support for #HSv2 addresses.
In our view this kills Tor . It means people won't be able to spontaneously write their address to give to others, they'll need to access a device to remember it or have the address on their person.
Seriously questioning #TorProject, right now.
