Police officers being officious and writing out a ticket (about what?) to discourage mum with baby seat on bike from using bike to move around with a baby? What a nice place Stoke Newington is... Cars are no problem there, but we need to get rid of young women with bikes?

This old footstool has been around the place for as long as I can remember. Right now I could actually use a footstool, but the velvet cover is getting very worn and some of the white (ceramic or enamel headed?) nails are gone. So I’m on the lookout for a leather piece about 60x60 cm, and an upholsterer who would re-cover it. Though a cloth cover would be fine, and plain brass nails.

Hackney Council/RSLs still provide a lot of homes so despite Hackney's popularity n crazy property prices, it still has large WC diverse communities which keeps Ridley Road market well used and an asset. I am not anti gentrification but it must serve ALL communities. Hope they win their fight to keep the market as it is apart from regen to improve the buildings, stalls etc.

Most of the time I'm really quite fond of Hackney Council. Their Parks and Green Spaces department have just answered a long-felt want of mine.
