To me the building is beautiful. And it lives best as a place of prayer rather than a museum. It should welcome anyone wishing to pray, Muslim, Christian, other. Eccumenical not secular use best respects history & meets human need today.
But I think it's being abused as a symbol of #Erdogan ambition to restore #OttomanEmpire rather than a symbol of faith. It divides where it should unite.
Imperialism, sectarianism is bad. news.
