This particular iteration of my moebius scarf (frogged the previous for length issues) is going well but adjustable cable needles + continental knitting the way i do it apparently don't play well - my motions are apparently in the direction that unscrews the needles and that just adds to the work, trying to fix that. So now I'm trying to do it English-style, but it's much slower since I'm not so adept to it (since I started with crochet to begin with, so I'm more used to feeding the yarn from my left hand). But hey, an endless loop of herringbone stitches!

Let me share with you my folly: impulsive decision to do #knit a moebius-type scarf + a cable not long enough for that idea + me packing as many stitches as i can = finger cramps. Finally realized I can use a third needle to stand in as my active knitting needle instead so I don't long-term abuse the joints of these poor cable needles. As usual, all yarn is my own #handspun.

My favourite scarf is my very first completed project but it wasn't quite a true Moebius in that it was a long flat piece twisted once before i joined the two ends so the twist is always a little flat. I'm looking forward to twisty piece since after all, all moebius circles are pieces with one edge.

Cat Bordhi herself have done a couple of video tutorials for a Moebius cast on, but i prefer static text guides with illustrations for stuff I've done before, so here's the one for Interweave: https://www.interweave.com/article/knitting/learn-something-new-the-moebius-cast-on

It's a new sweater day! This is the Meitian sweater designed by Maysa Tomikawa. I already made it once in a colour block design but my handspun yarns were so uneven it hung all funny so I ripped it out and reknit it in these beautiful blended stripes. I'm in love. Plying time!

Given how small the nano is I don't really expect to use it for plying yarn much when I've got the big wheel right there, but I wanted to try it out, so this is a chain ply of my very first fibers spun on the blue beastie. Probably a bit overspun but it was fun!

One of my handspun yarns from 2022. This one is a blend of Bluefaced Leicester and seacell, a plant based fiber. This yarn is incredibly soft and has lovely drape. Pink isn’t really my color but this was a nice fiber to spin. @fiberarts #yarn #crochet #HandSpunYarn

Got a *little* bit of time to try out my new Electric Eel Wheel Nano 2 e-spinner before my kid noticed and got in my way. 🙄

I'm pretty pleased that I could set it up to spin on my lap, and I don't know how much of it is my improved spinning skill & knowledge and how much is the subtle improvements in version 2, but it was really smooth and easy to use first try!

This was a spin that took awhile to finally complete. I had a single spun from set of merino rolags that I finally decided to ply with a tan/mauve batt. I wasn’t convinced that this combo would work but decided to try anyway. Turned out quite nicely.

Here’s the handspun I finished while isolating. I got a chance to give it a wash and whack to help set the twist.

This is a chain (or Navajo) 4ply which is an unusual construction. The main colour (dyed by Southern Cross Fibres) is chained during plying with the accessory ply being carried along.

It’s a challenging technique suited to spinners who are comfortable with regular chain ply and who have a tensioned Kate.
