#DestinationLinux covered laptops with Linux pre-installed and the new release of #DarkTable this week
For both they brought in Wendy from #HardwareAddicts to provide extra depth

Was listening to latest #HardwareAddicts on #Odysee and wanted to clarify something about #intel naming conventions.
-Many names are pulled from geographic locations(mostly west coast US)
-Many names are in reference to either it's architecture or performance.
When looking underneath the cover of Cpu/Pch with a microscope, there are what resembles lakes, canyons, etc. Internally, no-one them by their spec-names eg "..2200k.." but have inhouse terminology thats 10x shorter.
So why the long name?
It makes it easier/clearer on BoM lists. Intel research wasn't initially meant for everyday consumers- so this goes back quite a long time ago to when most people who wanted the parts had to be specific because they cost a lot more than they do today. Refunds on experimental bleeding tech were not common inb4 the Arpanet.
No, not a spokesman- just someone who loves learning my techy roots.
