I just discovered that there are TONS of audio clips of the great Zora Neale Hurston on YouTube. And that includes her singing! I'm particularly fond of the Crow Dance and, as her roaring claps indicate, she was singing AND dancing in front of the mic. She sounds like she was a blast to hang out with. If you haven't read THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD, you should. There are also two handsome LOA volumes, both of which I have.
