To counterbalance the insane talk of suspending the constitution, here is a Harris’s Sparrow at Oxley as part of the solace in Nature, solitude and Sparrows theme. One of our more interesting sparrows, they breed in tundra in northern Canada and migrate to overwinter in a narrow swath of states (Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and part of Texas). They arrive in mid October and depart in early May to return north. Their song is amazing.
