Too big to fail? I'm always fascinated by how „hobby corporations“ (like #GamesWorkshop #Hasbro #WotC) keep going against fans and customers. Threatening and intimidating them, but also getting away with it. The customers keep throwing a lot of money at them. It has a dystopian feel to it, where some people can just get away with whatever they want. Consumption justifies so much.

The #Hasbro plan is to get players into a subscription model. Tiered monthly fees for various types of content. They said this was corporate strategy just prior to the OGL disaster, and although they backpedaled on a lot of issues due to the pushback, I believe this is still on the table as one of those frog in boiling water vs. frog in slowly heating water type of thing.
It definitely makes sense to look at everything #WotC is doing with #dnd from that perspective.
