Man, there is -nothing- that improves the sound of a headphone like being at pleasant buzz.

So these showed up about an hour ago and I got a good listen/testing session in.

Sound quality is better than expected. Using the app to turn on basshead mode and I'm pretty happy.

ANC is meh.

Transparency mode (once I figured out how to turn it on) is surprisingly good. It does a weird thing with my own voice that APPs didn't, but directionality and tone are intact. It's -way- better than the transparency on my Sonys.

I cycle my headphones as a way of hitting that hedonic treadmill without having to constantly buy new.

Today I swapped out the Dekoni Blues that l've been using for the last few months for my Sundaras, and man does everything sound magical again.

I love my Blues but they'd just normalized in my brain a bit too much. So back on the shelf for a bit for the shine to come back.

Just became aware of the Moondrop Space Travels.

$25 for a set of wireless ANC earbuds with Moondrop tuning? That's worth checking out. They'll be here tomorrow.

I'll be curious how they compare to the Air Pod Pros. My expectation is they'll sound roughly as good, ANC will be 90%, and transparency mode will suck. (Transparency mode really is the killer feature for APPs.) If that's the case, it'll still be a satisfying exchange for the price.

Whelp, my Airpod Pros are basically done. The left one has been giving me grief, blasts static until it gets a few lovetaps, then is fine. Except today, I tried to use them on a dog walk and now every footfall is accompanied with a chirp of static. (And before anyone suggests it, they're long past the window for the warranty/recall.)

I've got too many other pairs of #headphones to be able to justify picking up a pair of APP2s right now, but I'm still a bit sad about it.

Been going through my old headphones, and today I busted out the Koss Portapros (w/ Yaxi pads).

Immediately I'm hit with just how -spacious- the sound is. Soundstage and imaging on these is fantastic. Not "for the price", it's the best of anything I've listened to recently.

Tonality is warm, which is my preference. Detail and clarity is where these show their budget, everything is just a bit fuzzy. This is an oversized flannel, not a tailored suit.

Would absolutely buy again.

I've been shit-talking BLON BL-03s lately and figured I should probably go give them a fresh listen to make sure I don't have a fat meal of crow on my plate.

Nope, still not good. Moondrop Chus are still significantly better for less than half the price. Maybe it's just the tips and not getting a good seal, but the BLON's already have aftermarket tips just to not fall out of my ears. They don't sound -bad-, but they sound thin, like listening to a CD through a tape adapter.

Yeah, yeah, this should be an intro post, but I feel the need to pin something.

It’s my #birthday today
Woke up with a #migraine and then went back to for two hours.
Woke up refreshed for a http://nadeah.com special Bday #livestream from my favourite female singer (all the way from Australia) rocked out a bit.
Then went for a #DogWalk while listening to some #RockMusic on my #Headphones.
After lunch we set off on a #drive to Harrogate where my wife is helping at a charity do tonight and dogs and I are #camping in the car park.
Now for some #weirdcarmastodon & #F1 😁
