@thoughtpunks Another game of #HeckinGoodDoggos on Friday night, the 4th in this spontaneous campaign that just came together out of a one-shot.

I'll also be starting journaling game #Apawthecaria this week and recording the travels of my animal healer, gathering remedies and curing ailments across Scotland's anthro population

Tonight is the 3rd part of my impromptu #HeckinGoodDoggos campaign, somewhat delayed, so a Santa Claus/Krampus themed villain no longer seems appropriate.

Last time, the dogs uprooted a tree while fighting off the Darkness and some Borrower-like pests, revealing some old bones, so now I need to follow up on the plot hook somehow...

Tonight in #HeckinGoodDoggos , the dogs fought the Wombles (kind of) and uprooted a tree and I will be doing a 3rd session with the same players just before xmas. Why do I keep underestimating the pleasure this game brings to people?

Today will be the firs time I run #HeckinGoodDoggos again for the same group, so I have to come up with a second plot! 😆 My pitch involved small items going missing and strange giggles coming from the walls, but we'll see how much that features once we start playing

I hereby resolve to set more #ttrpg sessions at night; running #CampFlyingMoose last night had such a fresh feel as the campers went out after lights out. I can imagine the same thing working well with #HeckinGoodDoggos and a few other games in my stable.

"Dwarves & elves don't get along," is a bit of setting lore I will accept and shrug off, more or less. But tell me that the dog-people and cat-people don't get along and I *instantly* get where you are coming from and also can think of sone little ticks and quirks I can add to my portrayal.

My most successful game to run this year has been #HeckinGoodDoggos in which all the PCs are jus dogs and they don't even wait to learn the rules before they're getting into character.

A number of the games I have been taking to #ttrpg conventions lately have been so focused that they come in well under the time allotted to the session. For example, #HeckinGoodDoggos plays in about 2 hours, while #RestInPieces easily fits into 1 hour!

As a result, I have been offering double-episode sessions of these games, where the players play once, then have a break and come back to play again with the same PCs. I like how this lets you explore different aspects of the setting and PCs 😀

Next weekend is #ConDensed in Northampton! I will be offering #HeckinGoodDoggos #Abyss #RestInPieces #TroubleMakers and #VoxPopuli so two I created versus three I backed.

I might have gone from no campaigns to run, to two campaigns to run.

Has anyone ever casually run a one shot #ttrpg just to try it out and see how it goes, and then all the players love the game so much that they immediately want you to run a campaign for them? I've had that with #HeckinGoodDoggos this week 😀

@ToneMilazzo I ran #HeckinGoodDoggos for a group last night and they all really got into the idea of being heroic hounds... well, hounds at least 😆

It's only in retrospect that I realise last night's game can be described as "A pack of dogs get excited and confused by a strange new smell on the wind, leading them to dance for biscuits in a shopping mall, fight a street sweeper and celebrate Bonfire Night two days early" #HeckinGoodDoggos
