This gets my nut on behalf of other people. Just because *I* don't require some aspect of #HeritageSites infrastructure, doesn't mean others don't. So, yes, baby changing rooms, cycle racks, ramps, braille and induction looks are essential. Do I personally need them? Not now, but I might. And until then thousands of other users will have enjoyed improved access. #accessibility
Mind you, responses like this one largely come from people who have otherwise no professional connection with #HeritageOrgnaisations, #HeritageSites or the #HeritageIndustry. Because if they did, they'd know it's easier to squeeze water from a stone than a penny out of funding to pay for staff AND upkeep. If you want more staff, prices have to go up. But then people won't visit b/c now tickets costs even more than the previous 8 quid. So families look at an average spend of 25 per location

More #heritage report shenanigans. This time: obstacles to visiting #HeritageSites. It features this banger of a response.
Overall, it looks like main obstacles are an over-reliance on car access & parking. We have to seriously re-think how we're doing travelling to, from & around if we don't want to turn the country into a car park. Mostly my personal mantra is: improve #PublicTransport, esp busses in rural areas. Everyone wins, locals & visitors alike.
