Hat noch jemand bei #hetzner in #nürnberg Probleme mit dem Zugriff per #sshfs auf die #storagebox in #falkenstein ? Von deren anderen Standorten habe ich keine Probleme:
Bei mir hängt unregelmäßig der Mount (hilft nur noch ausschalten und wieder einschalten 🥺) oder Zugriffe (ls, find, …), die vor Anfang August schnell waren, dauern nun oft einige Sekunden 🤷🏻‍♂️

You should insert the congested #OVH core network there instead.

@zackwhittaker because #Hetzner is a known bona-fide hoster that enforces it's ToS and doesn't like people abusing them for nefarious purposes...

Probleme mit dem Löschen/Verschieben von Verzeichnissen/Dateien in der #Nextcloud. Danke des Supports von #Hetzner (Antwort innerhalb mittels Mail innerhalb von 10 Minuten, wow!!) war der Schuldige klar: Die Music App muss deaktiviert werden. Der Bug ist schon bekannt.

Ich kann noch kurz ergänzen warum ich mich "damals" (2019) für #storagebox plus #vm bei #hetzner statt dem #nextcloud Angebot entschieden habe und nun mehr zahle:
1. ich habe mich per E-Mail zu meinen Anforderungen/Wünschen beraten lassen und auch die klare Ansage bekommen, dass ich als #poweruser mit der NC nicht glücklich werde, weil kein #rsync per #ssh usw.
2. mit einer VM plus Storagebox kann man noch sooooo viele andere geile Sachen/Projekte machen… Und mir ist kein 24x7 laufender NC-Sync-Client (vulgo: Service) bekannt, so dass ich stattdessen meine Daten mit #syncthing zw. zuhause (mehrere User, die eben nicht immer alle gleichzeitig am Desktop angemeldet sind, damit der mittelmäßige NC-Client laufen kann) und meiner NC synchronisiere.

@philipp Ich würd mir eine #Nextcloud selber hosten oder eine gemanagte einkaufen - je nachdem was du dir selber zutraust.
Quants costa schätzungsweise auch nur 5,11€ für 1000GB bei #Hetzner oder 1000GB #storagebox (ssh, cifs/smb, WebDAV) für unter 4€ plus eine kleine VM für Nextcloud ca. 5€ - alles mit 100% Standort in DE 🇩🇪 oder FI 🇫🇮

@beli3ver Die #Storagebox von #hetzner spricht auch #ssh auf Port 22. Bei #upptime kannst du auch einfach einen simplen tcp-ping als Check nehmen:

Ich habe das hier auch mal auf https://thomasmerz.github.io/pihole-wireguard-knowhow/ mit ein paar Tipps und Tricks und Tweaks beschrieben - ich nutze dafür aber statt den heimischen #pihole (m)einen in "der Cloud", also konkret bei #Hetzner wegen Durchsatz und so.

I sent an angry email to #hetzner that their site literally nowhere suggests that they’re blocking email traffic and you have to dig through documentation for a separate product (cloud vs dedicated servers) to figure it out.
Credit where credit is due - they did respond swiftly and unblocked those ports for me, but they still haven’t fixed the communication issue which really makes it hard to trust them

Interesting insight into the #Hetzner #Cloud backend: According to the source in the video (in German), there is no #Openstack running behind the Hetzner Cloud. Everything is self-built based on #KVM. The installation of the #ARM64 servers is also shown. It seems to me that they are also built into the self-developed chassis, which is of course no surprise.

Asked #Hetzner when an officially supported install image based on #Debian 12 "Bookworm" is going to be available.
