hetzner-k3s v1.0.1 is out with #autoscaling support! The tool now allows you to configure worker node pools with autoscaling enabled, like with managed #Kubernetes services 🎉

Almost done with the Crystal rewrite of my #Kubernetes installer for #hetznercloud and it's amazing! I just created a production cluster with HA control plane (3 masters behind a load balancer) and 5 worker nodes distributed in multiple regions, all in just 3 minutes and 19 seconds. In this time frame my tool created all the infrastructure (8 servers, load balancer, firewall, network) plus set up Kubernetes on all the nodes. I don't think there exists a tool faster than this :D #devops

Making a ton of progress with the #crystal rewrite of my #kubernetes installer for Hetzner Cloud. It's proving to be a lot more difficult than I had anticipated though.... #Ruby's dynamic nature makes a lot of stuff incredibly easier compared to other languages, including Crystal despite the similar syntax #programming #k3s #hetznercloud #devops

@TooPlain I haven't benchmarked network on #hetznercloud recently but last time I did it had a bandwidth of 3Gb/s on my #VPS, which is awesome. But the fast transfer I saw is also thanks to #wasabi and #idrive, which are both super fast

I hope this #flu (since the #covid test was negative) is over now. Feeling better. I am hoping to work a bit on https://github.com/vitobotta/hetzner-k3s this weekend. For those who are not familiar with it: it’s my tool to quickly create #kubernetes clusters (using #k3s) in #HetznerCloud. I’m currently rewriting it from #Ruby to #Crystal so I can offer standalone binaries that are easier to use (now you’d need to set up a Ruby environment or use #Docker instead).

@konstantin yep, I was blown away by how flexible, reliable and easy it was to get #K8s using #kubeone up and running on #HetznerCloud amd even scale it.
