These processes are about 2000 times rarer than processes involving the production of a single , i.e. the processes that lead to the in 2012. To have the best chance of finding this , we have to combine all possible final states. 2/9

Hi :) I am currently a researcher at the KBFI in Tallinn. I am working in but I am occasionally diving into as well. Predominantly searching for the , especially when it comes in pairs.

1222: Is there a -like particle that decays to an electron and muon? This is obviously a big question with huge implications, so the best answer we can give for now is Possibly...

We see some extra collisions around 146 GeV mass, but they are insufficient to get excited for now. The data is at 2.8 sigma inconsistent with background = chance of fluke 1/380ish. More data is being collected - so 🤯🎁📊⁉️

Where did all the go? 🤔

To answer this question, the @ATLASexperiment carried out a new analysis of its full dataset from Run 2 of the . The collaboration then tested the interactions with the carriers of the weak force, looking for signs of… twitter.com/i/web/status/16508

1210: Making four is crucial to test the coupling to top quarks and the strong coupling (both also sensitive to undiscovered particles, predicted or otherwise).

This new paper gives 3.9 sigma (=chance of random fluctuation of 0.005 percent!) evidence for four-top production, in challenging collisions where most/all of the four top quarks decay to jets. There was a lot of (new!) methods required to be this sensitive, btw cms-results.web.cern.ch/cms-re

What the tells us about the - The Higgs boson is the only known to be scalar, meaning it has no . This fact answers questions about our universe, but it also raises new ones.

@DrDavidRHamilton oh hey Dr. Hamilton! I read (listened to) your book, “Why Woo Woo Works.” I so appreciate your background and perspective on such interesting topics. I hope it invites more analyses from yourself and others. I especially appreciated your discussion on the and , as compared to other dismissed discoveries which show magnitudes more statistical probability.
Stumbled upon your post doing a “” search 💫

1195: The has only been directly confirmed to decay to the third-generation quarks. It is key to check that the same Higgs boson is also decaying to other quarks. Important to ensure there isn't more than one 😮 🤯

This checks what could be high-momentum Higgs bosons for decays to charm quarks (close! but not yet. More data will help!), with a free first observation of Z bosons decaying to charm quarks at a hadron collider 😎

We can’t stop wanting to know more and more about the ! 🧐
Here we give you a little (accessible) peek behind the curtain of a recent CMS result obtained by analysing events in which the Higgs decays to two W bosons, carriers of the weak nuclear force! 👉 cms.cern/news/measuring-higgs-
