#Hippos are one of the most beloved and iconic animals in the world, but they are facing threats that could push them towards extinction.

We must act now to save hippos and preserve the #biodiversity and cultural heritage of our planet. Sign the petition, raise awareness about the need to conserve this iconic animal, and call on the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to extend the #ESA's critical protections to the common hippopotamus!

Bull hippos frequently open their mouths wide as a show of dominance. Whatever, we’d like to think is happening, we need to give hippos a safe distance since they can be quite aggressive. #Europe’s largest #trophyhunting fair is currently taking place in #Dortmund, #Germany.Over 80 national and international exhibitors are attending Jagd & Hund 2023, offering expensive trophy hunting trips.

Between 2014-20, over 5,409 internationally protected spp were imported into Germany, including 194 #Leopards, 208 brown bears, 166 #hippos, 229 #elephants, 138 #lions, 9 #polarbears, and 2 black #rhinos. Thx to such fairs.
