Browsing old in the and finding a very intriguing J.G. Yung performer and piano etc tuner popping up frequently in the in the latter half of the 19th century (1850s onwards). A bit of genealogical digging finds he was born in , , and died in in 1903. I may well pull together the various references into a more scholarly article.

A great read for anyone curious about music - how factors such as performance environment and inventions have influenced its creation etc.

Did you know the first records were recordable?
Or that the initial Christian US response to vinyl was that it was sinful because it encouraged pleasure alone, like masturbation. (🙄 Those extreme Christians can have some really messed up minds 🤷🏼‍♂️).
