"file #classification schemes" and "filing #taxonomies" gets me lots of results, many are industry/institution specific. Im looking for a good "personal filing scheme" to get #organized.

How do you guys file your emails and files, photos, digital records? Like if something pertains to your kid's grade 2 year would that be under:
`kids\school\grade2`
or
`\YYYY\kids\grade2`
or maybe newsgroup style
`\kids.sch.gr2`
What's your scheme?

I've watched 2 episodes of "Britain's greatest hoarders" yesterday and it made me highly uncomfortable. I'm not a hoarder, but I do have trouble of letting stuff go. I can be *very* attached to my stuff, and I do have too much if it. These people did start out somewhere, and stuff accumulated until it got really bad.
