Tinne - Holly

Another spear-wood, like Nuin yesterday, but Tinne's divinatory meanings stem more directly from its martial use. It portends strength, power, and tenacity, but also the challenges that strengthen these and make them necessary.

Thinking of Tinne as an indicator of struggle brings to mind the old tales of the Oak and Holly Kings, and their battles as set to the festivals of the year's wheel. Today is 1 March, and with Spring just around the corner, the Holly King's power is on the wane.

Sometimes I find that a block simply does not want to print. As soon as you fix one issue, another one appears. When this happens I find putting it away and surprising it at a later date tends to work 😅

So, as I have an illustration I want to work on tomorrow, here is the Holly King and Oak King block I’ve been working on and a print that I’m not happy with but it gives you an idea of what it will look like when I eventually do them.
