While our modern technology offers amusement, our culture falls short of past levels of sophistication. However, as we enter the dawn of the #Anthropocene era, we have the potential to evolve into an even more advanced culture.

The CBC reports on the discovery of an archeological site in central Saskatchewan that dates to 8200 years ago. At that time, the Laurentide Ice Sheet and large proglacial lakes still covered a sizeable amount of Canada, though the ice in Hudson Bay collapsed at around that time. It was found eroding out of the side of a small tributary about 4 feet below the soil surface – just downhill from a tee box on a local golf course. ⛳
It has since been donated to the Science Museum of Minnesota for further study.
