Finally managed to flash the latest firmware to my #sonoff #ZigBee dongle, took me hours, a real pain to suss it out and get it done. #smarthome is fun but can be so over complicated 😭

@mharleydev ow that is of course not great… it was on my todo list to also start with some announcements from #HomeAssitant through the HomePods so I was very curious

My first #ZigBee power plug just arrived, exactly the same as my 'WiFi only versions' except now ZigBee.
Connected to #HomeAssitant in seconds via the #sonoff #ZigBeeMQTT dongle.
Bought from #aliexpress, delivered to France in five days and less than half the price here in France . CE certification

Running #HomeAssitant on my #raspberrypi4 2gb with #DebianBookworm was so so slow as the browser plus HA ran out of memory. So scrapped the Pi, bought a reconditioned Lenovo Tiny M93p PC from Amazon, wiped the Windows, installed Debian and now it's far better. It's roughly three times the size of the Pi, so that's OK as still small.

"Hey Siri, Temperatur Spülmaschine".

Als Antwort bekommt man die Zeit in Grad. Alles etwas hacky und weit weg von natürlich, aber es funktioniert. HomeKit ist leider sehr limitiert, was die Einheit von Sensoren angeht.

Let's hope that soon we'll be able to buy some #raspberrypi4b 8 gigs at normal prices. 'cause my pi 4b with only 2 gigs is oh so slow running #Debian bullseye, #chromium with #HomeAssitant.

Now time to relax and play with #HomeAssitant on my #raspberrypi with only 2 gigs of memory 😭

Have now got Debian Buster 64 setup on my #raspberrypi #raspberrypi4b running just nicely.
Also have done a SD Flash with #arch 64 (which I prefer), installed it using terminal line by line, and got that working just fine as a test system.
Using the #Debian setup though as couldn't get #ha #HomeAssitant #Sonoff usb dongle, #ZigBeeMQTT #mosquitto to install on Arch. Sadly all is done for them to run on Debian. 😢 Been a busy couple of days 😁

Managed to get my Tuya account ans objects working with Home Assistant, now that's not an easy thing to do, rather complicate actually 🤔😢

My Crucial nvme in my #homeassitant Yellow failed at 5am. Thankfully I do backups to a NAS every 4 hours. Restoring now to the CM4 internal storage..

@mmornati @homeassistant @googlecalendar thanks, I've only used #HomeAssitant with #octoprint and #3dprinting, because I don't have many #smarthome devices at this time. I like implementing them all with #esp32 and #tasmota with my own #mqtt.

@m33x brilliant idea. Automatic suspend I always turn off for my server as normally it's tied to keyboard/mouse activity. Didn't thought about it you could use any other activitily too. #HomeAssitant

@balloob @homeassistant Running #HomeAssitant in rootless #podman container is not any more complicated. And you can keep it up to date with podman autoupdate (which can run periodically on timer). You can even use #ansible playbook to set all of that for you. And the biggest advantage is that you can reuse the same box for other things rather than needing two machines.

Fiddling around with #HomeAssitant is good fun, I just wish my TV's API wouldn't just give up when queried too often (?).
Was kind of looking forward to adjusting the lighting depending on the TV's state.
