Anyone (other than me) who wasn't impressed w/the Home Run Derby this year?
Yeah, a lot of home runs were hit a very long way but I personally didn't like the pairing/round robin system.
I like the old way of doing it in which the guy who hit the most HRs won, which in this case would have been Tampa Bay's Arozarena (82) and not Toronto's Guerrero (72).

Guerrero only won because of the round robin system which to be is as unsatisfying as "rank choiced voting."
And who chose the 8 players to compete in the HR Derby anyway?
Arozarena & Guerrero had hit only 13 & 12 HRs, respectively, since the start of the season.
And only 3 of the top ten HR hitters in the MLB to date -- Betts (26), Robert Jr (26) & Garcia (23) were in the derby.
No sign of Ohtani (32), Olson (29) or Alonso (26)!
WTF!!??? 🙄
So, I call BS on this so-called competition!!!! 😡
