Vandaag mijn partytentje voorzien van een setje slimme partylights van de Action. Werkt prima, mooie heldere verlichting. Heeft helaas geen #HomeKit en verschijnt ook niet in #HomeBridge met de Tuya plugin. 🤷🏻
Wel gelukt om een Siri Shortcut te maken, dus ik kan in ieder geval mijn HomePods ervoor gebruiken.
Maar wat ik echt wil kan geloof ik niet.

Ik krijg het niet voor elkaar… 😢

I use #Homebridge for other things, but I no longer use it for cameras. #Scrypted is superior in that regard.

Had hier in huis nog een SwitchBot Hub Mini liggen waar ik niets mee deed.
Maar heb ook sinds kort nepkaarsen die ik met een IR-afstandsbediening aan en uit kan zetten. 🕯️
Voor de mensen die me nog niet zo lang volgen. Mijn huis is volledig gebaseerd op #HomeKit en stemgestuurd. 🏡
Afstandsbediening ingelezen in de SwitchBot app, SwitchBot gekoppeld aan #HomeBridge, ‘Kaarsen’ toegevoegd aan accessoires en hop… Kaarsen schakelen mee aan en uit met alle scènes.

Sudo sudo sudo. Now got #Homebridge and #TimeMachine on the Raspberry together. Saves energy compared to an always on Mac Mini and works just as smooth.

@gaylondon #Homebridge is nice for devices that don’t natively support #Homekit for example. That’s what I used it for originally. I ended up having all my devices on that system and it works nice. It was a bit of an effort because I’m not an IT guys and that #github thingy can be a bit challenging.

Ohhhh, I can make my #MacMini server also home of my #Homebridge that is running on a #Raspberry right now. 😊

About to do my very first #Ubuntu headless server install. It’s for home use, with #Pi-Hole, #Homebridge, #HomeAssistant, #Plex, and #NextCloud all running in #Docker containers. The box is my old 2012 Mac mini with a 3rd-gen Core i5, 16GB of RAM, and SATA SSD. NextCloud & Plex storage will be on an external array once I get the $.

I’d appreciate any #tipsandtricks and #bestpractices from actual #linux admins to help make this as smooth as possible - especially with migrating the containers.

After a trip to IKEA (with meatballs for dinner!) for more #zigbee devices the outside sensor lights are now on a sunset until “late” timer so they don’t go on at silly o’clock and bother the neighbours. “Timer” is of course a huge software/hardware stack courtesy of IKEA Tradfri gateway/smart plug & Apple HomeKit. Next step is getting #Homebridge (which is running in a jail on the FreeBSD based TrueNAS server) configured so I can bring the other devices in too.

@PeteLittle1970 @Colone1Sanders7 to give a little bit of hope in the meantime, about a year ago I was able to get a solid integration via #Homebridge and Homebridge-Nest/Nest-Cam to integrate my cameras into #HomeAssistant. It wasn't fully local, so internet issues affected it, but it definitely got the job done.

Started playing around with #Homebridge in an attempt to get my Apple Home app up and running. So far is great and was able to get all of my devices up and running. Couldn't have been easier really (once I figured out the right way to get ring streaming).

On the fence about switching out from Echos to HomePods ultimately but have been super happy with how Siri has been working with CarPlay and via testing with my iPhone and Macs.

@iamgroot @Stephen I don't have a ton of #homekit experience (I think that's the Home app you're referring to), but I will say that #homeassistant can both expose entities to HomeKit and also read their stats. I've got #homebridge currently exposing some Nest devices to Home Assistant for me (via the HomeKit integration) and it's working pretty smoothly. I suspect you can do the reverse (expose Home Assistant to HomeKit) using the HomeKit Controller integration.

Successfully automated my roborock vacuum robot to use Siri/Homekit for rooms.
Documentation isn't straightforward (or my model is different) but figured it out.
Now I can automate only cleaning specific rooms instead of the whole house.
