The upper-level hot dome is retreating back to the west/southwest today bringing some relief to central Indiana.

Over the next week it appears the hot dome will flatten out and encompass the southern United States, keeping big heat away from the #Hoosier state.

My locality: C+ (58%) in Community, C- (42%) in Land, and C (53%) in Water. The lowest scoring indicators are Wetland Change and Tree Canopy, both failing (F). The highest scoring indicators are Education with a B+ and Aquatic Life with a B.

KEEP WATERING: The #Hoosier state is now feeling the effects of dry conditions.

75% of Indiana is classified as "Abnormally Dry" as of the latest #DroughtMonitor issued this morning. The area included is up 683% from last week.

One of my friends from #Indiana wrote me this:
"The Hoosier Poet," James Whitcomb Riley claimed that the term originated in taverns and is due to the rough and tough nature of early Indiana settlers. The morning after a bar fight, body parts would be left lying around and someone would ask, "Whose ear?" This, of course, supposedly became #Hoosier.
