Well, maybe #Kentiverse can settle a debate. I’m told that in #Kent in days of yore i.e. 1960s you could go to a tea shop and get toasted buttered ( #English ) #crumpets in the winter but not Summer, and toasted buttered #teaCakes in the Summer but not Winter. Possibly neither in #hotCrossBun season, we’re not sure.

Why?

Made #HotCrossBuns again this year, using bread flour, as the recipe says. The dough looks better and had an incredible texture before baking, but I think I'll go back to spelt flour next year, as it gives a softer taste.
