I wonder if expectations for #HoTD were really low following the final #GoT seasions, and so it was seen as a triumph, but that expectations for #LoTR following Jackson's original trilogy movies was so high, that anything was a disappointment.

I enjoyed it, but they I can remember when we regarded something like Conan as a high-point in movie attempts at fantasy.

I love the world of Westeros and was happy for but also sceptical of a return to this world as a series (you all know why). But #HOTD was great, did really good worldbuilding and being just a prolog, set the pieces for another game of thrones. And wow, I really adore Emma D'Arcy, they really nailed the character of Rhaenyra.

Ok, confession time, #ymmv: I never liked the #LotR, my interest in stuff by #Tolkien especially released after his death is very limited. In my opinion, the pictures and an teaser for #Amazon‘s #RingsofPower look awful, like a freaking fucking #Disney production.

I like Sword & Sorcery and #darkfantasy like #ASoIaF / #GoT.

So, I‘m looking forward to #HouseoftheDragaon / #HotD by #hbomax …
