What I’m having a hard time figuring out is what is the slavery issue of our time?

I get how critical the slavery issue was in the 1850s; makes sense it was contentious.

But what are the GOP hard-liners hard-lining for now? Investigating imaginary crimes they’ve been hoodwinked into thinking is true?

Equivalent 1850s nonsense would be:

“Slavery doesn’t exist!

Committee hearings on this subject!”
