A pair of new #coaxial cables laid under the Irish Sea came into use #OTD in 1938 providing capacity for 16 telephone calls, later increased to 24. The western terminus was the Martello Tower at #Howth, now the home of the @HurdyGurdyRadio@twitter.com museum.

I took my first international trip this October with my wife, a seasoned traveler, on our honeymoon and am still struggling with the mountains of photos I brought back. We traveled to Ireland and Scotland in an airplane leg room test run.
Here are some fishermen in Howth. We initially didn't plan on heading to Howth, but we are so glad we took the trip out.
