On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire”. This 1995 shoot-em-up was published by #HudsonSoft and is one of the few Arcade CD-ROM2 games. It really pushes the #NEC #PCEngine to its absolute limits.

Sapphire was one of the final games for the #PCEngine and released in limited quantities. As such it commands extraordinarily high prices in the current #Retrogaming market. Bootleg copies appeared soon after release, but even those can get quite high in price today.

On #SegaSunday / #CIBSunday here’s “Sonic Shuffle”. This is a year 2000 game co-developed by #HudsonSoft and #SonicTeam. It’s a board game style multiplayer game and was #Sega’s attempt to create a rival to the #MarioParty series from #Nintendo.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Winds of Thunder”. This is a 1993 title by #HudsonSoft on Super CD-ROM2 format. It’s a horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up with a fantasy theme and an impressive rock soundtrack. It was released as “Lords of Thunder” in the US.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Pomping World”. This is a 1991 CD-ROM2 port by #HudsonSoft of a 1989 arcade game by Mitchell Corporation which is much better known as “Pang” or “Buster Bros”. The game involves popping balls which split into smaller ones.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Crest of Wolf”. This is a 1993 Super CD-ROM2 game by #HudsonSoft & #Westone. It’s a belt scrolling beat-em-up, very much in the vein of Final Fight or Streets of Rage. It was released for #TurboGrafx in the US as “Riot Zone”.

Finally procured a third-party #Famicom controller, the #HudsonSoft HC62-4. Comes with turbo buttons and a cute little bee. Now I can sit three or four feet from the TV instead of six inches.
