So, this is a #genealogy toot: my #familycrest from the Dutch family #Hunink. Our family comes from the Dutch Hansiatic city #Deventer, but our original farm stead Huninck is found near Lichtenvoorde in the #Achterhoek region in the Netherlands. Hence the horse head gables that were common on rooftops in this #LowSaxon speaking region. The use of horse head gables goes back to at least the #Saxons, of who we descent.
