[#Shendran] aren't animals, but they aren't as intelligent as the [#Darakay] either. but they are part of the Darakay's society and they have their own (very simplified) speech. on top of that, they are loyal to their guild and masters. AND they can perform small tasks if taught correctly..

now, guess when the [#ZhorKhat] first came up with the idea of building [Hybrids]. it was certainly no case of coincidence.

what inspired the creation of [Hybrids]?

a very long time ago, the [#ZhorKhat] started their first cooperation with another species, the [#Darakay]. it wasn't a true cooperation, with two equal parts, but let's leave out those details..

anyway, the Darakay live with a semi-intelligent species, the [#Shendran], a quadrupedal creature that has an extra set of limbs akin to hands..

their purpose is very diverse, there are no boundaries. some are just companions or guardians :) others can perform tasks, like transportation, repairing and crafting. some are created for educational reasons - like a graduation project.

their shapes vary as well, but usually they have animalistic characteristics, bc it has proven that too humanoid (zhorkhat-ish?) shapes are eerie. considered too close to the shapes of their masters.

quite recently, I talked about [Hybrids] (#HybridKrim). creating them can be a very artistic process. programming their behavior even more. their beauty lies in their functions, their movements, their usefulness, their efficiency. their ability to be as close to a living thing as possible.

so, if you asked a [#ZhorKhat] to describe an artist, they would probably end up describing scientist instead..

[Hybrids] are designed, built and programmed by the [#ZhorKhat]. they come in many shapes and sizes, depending on their purpose. their behavior may trick you into believing that they're alive, but truth is, Hybrids are as alive as machines.
