Wow the price for the #IC705 has really gone up!

@ingalls I wish someone would make a vertical case for the #IC705 that would look like one of those old WWII infantry radios.

My #IC705 suddenly won't charge from the 13.8V DC jack. It will from USB.

I think something blew while I was running MSK144 (?).

I checked power at the barrel connector and the various menu options.

Looks like I'll be sending to ICOM for repair.

A little outdoor testing with the #IC705

Mildly regretting not bringing my #QRP go bag on this trip. Might've been able to squeeze in a #POTA activation at K-1547 (Traverse City State Park).

On the other hand, this was an art show trip, so there was barely enough room for myself, my partner, and the dog, let alone the #IC705 kit. Needs must, as they say.

I am so frustrated with the USB issue with #icom #IC705 #qrp #amateurradio. This thing supposed to make going digital as easy as plug in a cable. A-simple-cable, right? No, the noise now requires me to use 3 gigantic ferrite toroids on USB and coax cable just to eliminate noise! Toroids are as heavy as radio itself. I hate wireless data, especially on the field. How is this better than 20 year old way of 3.5mm jack and cat solution with old #Yaesu radios? These times I hate the hobby so much..

Is this level of noise normal these days? Or is my new antenna shitty =(
