Earlier this week, I had the absolute joy of attending the Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards. I’d never been before, and I had such a great time celebrating the achievements of people with disability and their allies.

There were multiple friends and organisations whose work I have huge respect for in pretty much every category. Including Daydream Machine 😎

Honestly, so many people I love were nominated or highly commended or winners, you need to go see the full list online.

I also got to meet comedian Alexandra Hudson, who was a brilliant MC, and we swapped stories of growing up in the same tiny NSW town.

Dylan Alcott was brilliant as the keynote speaker, of course.

Hooray for 2022 and everyone who was nominated, and can’t wait for all the amazingness the disability community will bring to 2023. I’ll be there to support you every day of the year!

Here's a couple of practical things you can do today:
- Use alt text in your images
- Politely inform others of the importance of alt text
- Test your content with a screen reader (we recommend the free NVDA!)
