@dfeldman I subscribe to a few Lemmy/Kbin communities, a few @pixelfed accounts, a few WordPress sites (that works if the site sets it up), a few @gotosocial accounts, and a few municipal twitter accounts (using bird.makeup). The magic of #ActivityPub is that all of those things can talk to each other, so you no longer need to #IFTTT your shit from service to service to make it available.

I like #ActivityPub a lot. I used to use #IFTTT to sync content around the internet (for instance: Blogger to Flicker, Tumblr, Twitter, and Mastodon) because I wanted to be where people are. With ActivityPub, you don't need to do that. As long as each service supports it, you can follow an account from one service on another service.

I really want to see the #Fediverse grow.

So, according to @moaparty, the connection between Mastodon and Twitter possibly go away due to changes to the Twitter API.

Eventually, I need to make some changes to scheduled posts here on Mastodon.

This is the time where I feel #IFTTT needs to get involved to add official ActivityPub support.

Please can someone cleverer than me create an #IFTTT connecting #Medium to #Wordpress for auto posting!

E.g you post to Wordpress and it auto creates a new medium post with that title, snippet of the original (or the whole thing) and a link to the original.

This already exists for other platforms e.g WP > FB/LinkedIn.

Hmm, #IFTTT support going away for #Netatmo products, I wonder what is behind this - one side or the other most have changed their position or thinking, I guess. I barely use IFTTT at all now, and never did with these products, but it was an exciting potential “universal switching hub” concept a number of years back… #IoT #APIs

A few years ago, I set up an #ifttt automation where blogger -> twitter, flickr, and tumblr. I'm working on replacing that with pixelfed -> blogger, flickr, and tumblr. I'm trying to avoid you needing to be somewhere in particular to follow my shit.

The goal:

Mastodon -- Dumb observations
Instagram -- Unedited photos
Pixelfed -- Edited photos (I'm still trying to learn)

@darnell For what it's worth, I have been an #IFTTT paid member since the beginning and I haven't seen anything from them on the topic, either. I did get an email from #Pipedream but it basically just said that they have no idea what's going on and that they would let us know when they know.

When I first set up @JoeTravels, it was a #Tumblr account with a #IFTTT applet that tweets new posts. When I created toot.works, I gave it a #Mastodon account and used #Moa to copy from twitter to mastodon. Last night, I tried to use #Pipedream to go from Tumblr to Mastodon but since https://travels.jws.app/api/read/json isn't valid JSON, I couldn't.

I might need to take another swing at this, this weekend. It would be nice if IFTTT work better with Mastodon.

I can only hope that #Buffer, #IFTTT, or someone else creates the ability to post to #Mastodon when I either share or create content.

Until then, my birdsite account will remain active.

getting back around to resurrecting my tumblr, and currently striking out trying to get an #IFTTT recipe to embed a link in a text post. I can get the URL to insert into the post no problem but it's doing so as plain text... Every html tag I try to pass through to get it to embed as a hyperlink is absolutely failing. Fairly sure I used to be better at this 😕
