The Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mervis, was prominent (along with Archbishop Welby) in his condemnation of Jeremy Corbyn during the leadup to the 2019 election. Non-Zionist Jews are forbidden from joining the Jewish Labour Movement, and play no part in antisemitism training in the Labour Party. Yet today Mervis is calling for unity amongst diaspora Jews in response to the actions of the government of the State of Israel.

The IHRA gives as an example of "antisemitism" the act of "Holding Jews collectively responsible for Israel’s actions."

@andykm I agree. What I object to as the person who was Head of Delegation to #IHRA when we adopted the definition, is deliberate disinformation about its content, intent and effect. We can have a long debate on what antisemitism is. No problem. But what drives me nuts are folks that intentionally lie about it.
