In other #ipres2023 news, i want to give the organizers a huge round of applause for differentiating registration fees based on "standard" & "self-funded". I think this - alongside the great sponsorship opportunities offered by Portico, dpc et al - is an immensely important step towards making #ipres more accessible and divers. That being said, I do acknowledge that the travel cost alone (plus the fee) are still a hurdle for too many. But it's a start.

- 2nd keynote speaker announced: no less than Sherry Williams of Bronzeville/Black Chicagoan Historical Society. The name should be no stranger to ipres-folks, since Tamar Evangelestia-Doughtery gave great praise to Sherry's work during her own ipres2022 keynote

unfortunately some other stuff came up for me and i now can't find a timeslot for a get-together anymore :-/ but i'll put a call for interest on the whova and will keep this in mind for the net #RDAplenary and also for meetings like #ipres . At least for me such a group would be beneficial - so it might be for others, too.

Potentially a bit off-topic, but I wonder if fellow queers & friends would find an informal LGBTQIA+ get-together at #RDAPlenary but also at #ipres of benefit. As someone who feels socially awkward a lot, it is often easier for me to connect amongst that peer group of mine 🤷🏻‍♂️
