@resingm That sucks. I do networking for a small college and we also give students public #ipv4 from our /16. However we also give students #ipv6 and have done so for over 10 years now.

@isaaclyman Does your ISP offer #ipv6? If so, I assume you can configure Nextcloud to use that.

My ISP gives me a dedicated #ipv4 address and a /56 ipv6 subnet. I assume they got a large allocation of ipv4 a long time ago and their subscriber base has not outgrown it yet. Or they decided it was better/cheaper to purchase more ipv4 addresses that it is to go the CGNAT route.

I sure wish the world would get their act together and jump all in on ipv6 already. All this CGNAT stuff causes issues

After some confusion I found the issue. This server is #IPv6-only. It has a private IPv4, but it is not NATed or routed. And NixOS works just fine, as cache.nixos.org is IPv6-enabled.

But if you use Flakes, you probably load inputs from GitHub, making #IPv4 a requirement.

Not sure what I expected… But #MikroTik‘s #LetsEncrypt feature for #RouterOS is #IPv4 only… 🤬 Does not request a #DNS #AAAA record. #legacyIP #IPv6
