December 2017 - Forest had a bad dose of IVDD, barely noticeable to me on Dec. 23rd, saw an urgent vet (sports injury specialist) on the 24th and spent the next 8 weeks with absolute cage rest.

IVDD, even when seemingly overcome, is a life long condition and requires extra caution as well as notifying any new vet of this condition.

Hope your little guy gets well quickly!
We had an #IVDD issue a few years back and 'cured' it with 8 weeks of cage rest.

The main thing I learned is that rest means REST.

Are you familiar with https://dodgerslist.com ? The site has two forums, one for #dachshund (s) #dogs that receive conservative (crate) treatment and one for dogs that have/had surgery. It is interesting and helpful to read through the #IVDD cases.

I finally played it all the way through….after all this time….(something to do while keeping my pup with #ivdd quiet and in a space she can’t jump round.)
