We've got a classic #dinosaur in the historical sense! #Iguanodon

Always great to see this genus made. And it's fine.

#Iguanodon was the second dinosaur genus named, in 1825, and has been one of the most famous #dinosaurs ever since. As it turns out, it is actually quite an unusual ornithopod; big and robust (this individual would be ~ 10 m long) with exceptionally well developed forelimbs. The hands are huge, with three hooved, weight bearing digits, a large, fixed thumb spike reminiscent of the spurs on the feet of game birds, and a flexible 'little finger'. #palaeoart
