This IS the future of #WFA!!
I love putting on my headset in the morning claiming my spot in the #virtualcafe and getting the day off to a productive start.
If anyone is curious about what's possible inside of virtual reality, the short answer: everything!

Nice updates to #ImmersedVR today. There's a new DND mode that will come in handy when co-working in public spaces but still trying to stay focused. #VR #Metaverse

I see that the temperature outside is a very comfortable 65F. I think today will be a good day to test working in #ImmersedVR with my #QuestPro headset outside. I just have to make sure to find a shady spot without direct sunlight.

Some lessons learned along the way:

1. GPU matters here. If you're on Mac ecosystem, M1 or better is so much smoother than Intel Macs.
2. Network matters here. WiFi6E makes a difference.
3. Meta makes great hardware but their first-party software is really disappointing. I primarily use #ImmersedVR and #NodaVR apps for work.
4. Yes the #QuestPro is worth the premium over the #Quest2.
5. Yes, coworkers are disrupted at first when you join a meeting with an avatar. This passes quickly.

My #VR setup has done some growing this week.

1. Using #BetterDisplay to set up two virtual displays 1:1 (square!) aspect ratio to the left and right of my main display. Plus another 16:9 display above my main one. I see them all in #immersedVR.
2. Picked up a Google Chromecast 4K and plugged it into my #ATEM Mini. Now I can use my first person POV as a webcam on zoom calls. Very handy when I am in #NodaVR.

I had a meeting today in #VR #metaverse via the #ImmersedVR app. I'm finding this a great way for folks to be able to be "present", to interact with body language and facial expressions... but not needing to be in front of a camera.

If you've got a VR headset you owe it to yourself to try this app out, and consider joining us in the virtual #coworking spaces. There's also a great community behind it in Discord.

I just took a zoom call from inside of an #immersedVR public coworking space (Space Lounge). Attendees saw me via my avatar, and the avatars of real people coworking behind me. And the moon was visible in grand size through the transparent roof of the lounge. #metaverse #VR

@massonpj there is a similar hall structure in #immersedVR but the upshot is every attendee gets their own copy of the screen (that only they can see) and they can position it wherever they want, making it as big as they want. Plus they can add their own screens to the mix that only they can see.

@techviator yes #immersedVR is far and away my favorite #VR #Metaverse app. It's not just the tech. The product team, the community around it, there's a lot going for it.

@judeswae yeah I noticed the two year time stamp and thought to myself how much it's changed just in the last two *months*. There weren't many toots on the HT so your old one was near the top.

@techviator is there more than one environment that has been updated? The only one that seems to be updated for me is the Space Station (but the expanded seating is nice!) #ImmersedVR

Just tested #ImmersedVR for remote collaboration with a colleague. And it absolutely does not work. Everything is so broken at the moment, I wonder how this could even pass the #Oculus vetting process. Maybe it's just bad luck, but this will need some serious work to pretend to be a "productivity tool". Feels more like a nice bedroom hack than anything usable.
