Literally the only thing that changed is now they feel empowered to #discriminate against me based on my #health status.

#Update on #Discrimination against me for being a #LongCOVID sufferer who is #immunocompromised wearing a mask.

Holy fucking shit some person from the credit union just called and asked me about yesterday, and asked me if "I was only asked to remove my mask for a moment" and I said "I was asked to remove my mask, I don't see how the duration would be relevant" then this fucking asshole starts fucking trying to gaslight me talking about how "we are a financial institution..." when they NEVER ONCE BEFORE asked me to remove my mask.

I just cut her off and told her to email me their policy regarding requirements for getting service inside, and discrimination against people with disabilities. Then she was like "oh Galletasalada, we would never..." and then I said "well you did yesterday" and that I "would not be communicating with them any further" and that they need to "send me your policy in writing and have a nice day" and then hung up.

I feel like I was far too polite for the level of disrespect that bullshit implies. They don't even respect my intelligence enough to admit that they lied to my fucking face, then lied over the phone! Never once has a policy of "removing masks momentarily" been something I've been informed of, or asked to do ever before. This institution has like 50 different ways they could identify me based on different correlations of my personal information, identity documents, passwords, passphrases, etc. They have industry standard security which means there is no fucking reason they would ever not know it's me. The teller wasn't even checking my ID, I was making a deposit! There's absolutely no reason they should have ever treated me this way no matter how scared the idiot teller is of people wearing masks to protect themselves and others from a deadly virus.

Just got discriminated against for wearing a mask trying to make a deposit. Teller invented a policy that has never existed before, of doffing masks to be able to do a transaction. I refused and left. They claimed that it had always been their policy, despite that being a blatant lie. Especially galling because the same magachud teller had helped me before no problem, they just decided today was the day to start power tripping. I’m going to get the policy from their head office in writing and come back and wave it in their face. Wondering if other #Immunocompromised #LongCOVID people have experienced this kind of bullshit.

How likely is a given person in #Allegheny County to have gotten a bivalent #COVID-19 booster shot? Oh great. As someone who is #immunocompromised and on statins this is just one more reason to stay away from enclosed spaces where these days hardly anyone is bothering to wear a #mask. Not too happy at the doctor quoted as saying “This is not 2020, where we have no drugs and the pandemic is causing lots of deaths and hospitalizations,” either 🙄

birds aren’t simply falling ill with #AvianFlu. this #pandemic, like so many before it, is a direct result of our taste for #meat and other animal products. and as that grows, zoonotic diseases are becoming more common and far worse. we’ve never seen avian flu at this scale and it has now jumped to mammals.

can you really say you care about #covid while you actively resist going #vegan and stop consuming these destructive products? are you an ally to #disabled and #ImmunoCompromised people if you make a conscious decision to play with a fire that has torn through their communities many times before? are fried chicken and scrambled eggs — things with many delicious, cheap, healthy alternatives — worth another year or more in lockdown as your loved ones die?
