For the Day of the #ImprisonedWriter, we continue to urge for the release of 2020 PEN/Barbey #FreedomToWrite honoree Xu Zhiyong, an essayist and legal scholar. He was detained in February 2020 and tried in secret for “subversion of state power” in June 2022.
