Given that they don’t know how Westminster politics works, I can almost forgive them for not understanding #tradeUnions and #industrialRelations work. A couple of pointers from a professional:

1. #Union ‘bosses’ don’t answer to the Labour Party
2. Union ‘bosses’ answer to their members
3. Union members are the real decision makers: talk to them

Quick reminder that the #personification of collectives, institutions, movements, and even whole nations is not exactly new or unique to #tech… over the last year alone, we’ve seen the UK media try to reduce the actions and motives of a mass movement to one man (poor #MickLynch!) because we no longer have the widespread skills or language to talk about #industrialRelations, so we need a figurehead to demonise or idolise. That’s as silly and embarrassing as #JohnMastodon… from either side!
