God wants to take you from a slave mentality to one of sonship.

To be a disciple of God means you must have the discipline to follow the Lord. Getting in the Word every morning might be tough now, but it’s worth it eternally.

When you're a slave, you do things out of obligation, but when you're a son, you do things out of vision and purpose (John 8:14, 35).

God welcomes you to come as you are, but you can’t stay the same (Rom 12:2). He will change the desires of your heart, if you allow Him. Through the deeper understanding of the Word, you become transformed and your character begins to change into the character of God (Col 3:10).

We were bought with the blood of Jesus, having been slaves to sin, we are now slaves to God (Rom 6:22). But what if I told you God doesn’t want us to be slaves forever? While being a slave to God is necessary, it is not eternal and doesn’t include the inheritance God wants to give us (Jn 8:35).

When a son comes to the age of maturity (30, when Jesus began His ministry) the Fathers business is passed down to the son. While it’s not about a literal number, it does capture a spiritual principle of growing in our faith, into a place of stewardship so that the Lord can pass down the inheritance.

“And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.”
John 8:35

A baby can’t run an estate, they need to grow and mature in order to handle the responsibilities.

God isn’t giving His inheritance, to babies in the faith, but to mature ones. Paul said the mysteries of the kingdom are given to the mature in order to receive the glory.
